Welcome

We're a NY family that thrives on movement. Routines flew out the window a long time ago ~ this is the routine.

Competition

Perhaps one of the reasons I don't engage in competitive speak with other parents is my general awareness that we're all just out there doing our best and will inevitably fail, lots of times, regardless of our most valiant efforts. Perhaps it's due to my belief that even though we may fail repeatedly in our own minds, that the over all universe's perspective is that hey - we made it to tomorrow - well done. In any case, it's not that I'm not a competitive person or don't think that I have somewhat relatively decent ideas on strategies for parenting, I simply don't find it terribly productive to share these with other parents in a one-up'ness sort of way. We're all out there doing this together, The Village, and I've just never seen any good come from attempts to convince The Village that your individual self is beating the rest of us.

And well, it's hard to beat this.

  1. I like that term, competitive speak. It's perfect. I can't dig it either. I don't need to be reminded I am not perfect.
